The 2024 team is composed almost exclusively of players from Class A schools. Their statistical success merited separate recognition outside of the Special Mention or Watch list groupings.
Jessica Bearley, Columbia, keeper, junior
She posted 16 clean-sheets, including one that gave Class 3A state champion New Trier its only shutout loss. In 1,780 minutes, she allowed 18 goals, for a 0.881 goals-against average.
Becca Berkeley, Rochelle Zell, forward, senior
Three-time selection graduates as one of the top two players in program history. She showed great closing speed on the edge, and the ability to repeatedly get free in space and score with either foot. She notched a team-best 25 goals and added six assists. Coach David Martinez called her one of the two best players in program history.
Bree Birdsong, Althoff, defender, senior
The shutdown defender scored three goals and contributed an assist for the state champions. The Crusaders shut out 11 of their final 13 opponents and permitted just one state tournament goal.
Anna Brewer, Althoff, keeper, senior
The three-time selection and Southwestern Illinois recruit missed nine early games. Her return sparked the Crusaders’ Class A state championship run. Playing 1,135 minutes, she posted 9.5 shutouts and allowed 12 goals for a 0.790 goals-against average. She shut out Williamsville, which scored a state record 163 goals this season, in the championship game
Alaina Clark, Wilmington, midfielder, junior
The dual threat scored 30 goals and contributed 14 assists.
Elana Cohen, Rochelle Zell, midfielder/forward, junior
Commanded the field as an elite playmaker and creator with an instinct for the goal. Her blend of touch, balance and ability to anticipate the flow proved exceptional. She scored 23 goals and distributed a team-high 13 assists.
Grace Durante, Beecher, forward, sophomore
The athletic and dynamic repeat selection increased her goal production from 36 (2023) to 47. Coupled with nine assists she produced 103 points for the season. Named all-area by Daily Southtown.
Addison Finet, Monticello, forward, sophomore
Repeat selection showed explosive athleticism and a keen finishing touch. She increased her goal total by eight goals to 38 and added nine assists. Named first team all-area by Champaign News-Gazette.
Calynn Frye, Williamsville, forward/midfielder, sophomore
A skilled and electric talent, she scored 35 goals and created 18 assists for the state runner up.
Jennifer Garcia, Cristo Rey, forward, senior
Scored 25 goals and contributed six assists for the regular-season and Chicago Prep Conference tournament champions. Named tournament MVP.
Crystal Gutierrez, Marine Leadership, forward, junior
Three-time selection broke loose for 41 goals and 14 assists for the emerging Chicago Public League program.
Hope Huizenga, Timothy, midfielder, senior
Scored 28 goals and added 12 assists for the supersectional qualifier. Played in the state championship game as a freshman.
Karsyn Jacoby, Athens (co-op), forward/midfielder, junior
A skilled and versatile all-purpose talent, she was both an orchestrator and gifted finisher who contributed 34 goals and 22 assists.
Gianni Jaime, Herscher, midfielder, sophomore
The skilled playmaker dished out 40 assists and scored 25 goals for the Class A sectional qualifier. Her brother, Lewis recruit Jaden Jaime, was a two-time selection for the boys.
Mary Katherine Kluesner, St. Thomas More, defender, junior
Strong two-way talent had nine goals and 10 assists. Named first team all-area by Champaign News-Gazette.
Chloe Law, Litchfield, midfielder/forward, sophomore
A diverse talent who toggled between attacking midfielder and forward, she dazzled with 36 goals and 23 assists.
Megan McNitt, Murphysboro, forward/defender, senior
Oscillating between the back and the top of the attack, she was at her best as an explosive scorer. She finished with 39 goals and four assists.
Devyn Mouybayed, University (Chicago), midfielder, sophomore
The creative talent powered the middle attack of the Class A state finalist with 10 goals and seven assists.
Emmely Munoz, Back of the Yards, forward, senior
The top scorer in the city and the only AA player on this team, she broke the 100-point plateau with 49 goals and 14 assists in finishing with 112 points.
Lillee Nugent, Bishop McNamara, forward, senior
The creative talent, who has also played with the boys’ side, scored 34 goals and contributed nine assists.
Bernadette Presberg, Willows, defender, junior
The converted midfielder shifted to the back and was a massive part of the Eagles’ state run. The two-way talent scored 16 goals and contributed 12 assists. Her individual lockdown defense helped the team secure 16 shutouts.
Veronica Presberg, Willows, senior, midfielder
Three-time selection powered the Eagles to their most dominant season, She finished with 36 goals and 26 assists for the 21-win Class A third place state finisher.
Deborah Schmid, Oregon, midfielder, senior
She scored 37 goals and added 17 assists for the Class A sectional qualifier.
Ilana Schwartz, Ida Crown, midfielder, senior
The most prolific scorer in the talented and deep Chicago Prep powered the Aces with 31 goals and nine assists.
Caroline Sheehan, Sacred Heart-Griffin, midfielder, junior
She scored a team-best 29 goals and contributed 15 assists for the Class A supersectional qualifier.
Anna Stender, Oregon, forward, junior
The perfect complement to forward Deborah Schmid, she finished with 28 goals and 14 assists.
Brooklyn Termine, Williamsville, midfielder/forward, sophomore
The versatile talent, who played all three field positions, scored a team-best 107 points with 46 goals and 15 assists for the Class A state runner up.
Allie Werner, Peotone, forward, sophomore
Broke out as an elite scorer this season with 32 goals and seven assists.
Adriana Wrzos, Marian Central, forward, junior
She exploded off her promising sophomore season with 31 goals and contributing four assists.
Leyla Yates, University (Chicago), forward, sophomore
She powered the Maroons to a fourth place Class A state finish with a team-best 13 goals and four assists.
